This course provides trustees with a broad overview of the workings of a retirement fund and trustee responsibilities. It covers the structure of a Retirement Fund, the different types of funds, benefits payable, legislative requirements, duties and responsibilities of trustees, complaints procedure and distribution of death benefits. These courses do not involve a formal assessment. Learners receive InvestmentWise certificates of attendance for having attended the training.

- RETIREMENT FUND INVESTMENTS (duration: available as either a 1 day or 2 day course)
Trustees are responsible for the investment of a fund's assets. They may delegate the function to outside investment managers, but not their fiduciary duty to ensure the fund's assets are invested correctly. It is therefore essential for trustees to have a basic understanding of investments, as election to such a position is a serious responsibility and not to be taken lightly. - See further details...
